Tonight: Big improv happenings at PHIT

The PHILLY IMPROV THEATER‘s Shubin Shows continue on tonight with a rocking lineup.

First at 8PM, start the night out right with PHIT houseteam EVERYTHING MUST GO and a performance by LEO CALLAHAN, a group born out of members of the recently departed local fave ILLEGAL REFILL.

Then hunker down for the 9:30PM show, because you’re in for a treat. Acclaimed houseteam FLETCHER takes the stage, followed by a set from supergroup RARE BIRD SHOW.

Yeah, it’s kinda like that.

Listen Up: C vs A Radio Hour tonight with Illegal Refill

From 7-8PM EST tonight, DAVE WALK hosts the C vs A RADIO HOUR, a bi-weekly comedy talk show featured at Gtownradio.com (The Sound From Germantown).

This show features local improv group ILLEGAL REFILL, who will be chatting with Dave and performing a set. Listeners can even tweet their suggestions. Dave will also play excerpts from TODD GLASS‘ new album, Thin Pig.

Comedy at Urban Saloon this Thursday

Tomorrow night, the backroom of the Urban Saloon will play host to the cream of the crop in Philly improv… ILLEGAL REFILL & RARE BIRD SHOW. These two groups will take the stage in this intimate setting for a night of laughs and improvised mayhem. I challenge you to find a better double-bill this side of the Garden State Parkway.

Philly represents at DCM 11

The acceptance letters are rolling in, and it looks like there’s already a number of Philly groups slated to perform at DCM 11 this summer. The marathon runs Friday, August 14th – Sunday, August 16th across multiple venues in Midtown Manhattan. There’s no official schedule posted yet… but here are the groups who have so far announced their timeslots:

Tonight: Illegal Refill at Studio 34

It’s the third Thursday of the month, and that means PHIT affiliate ILLEGAL REFILL will be performing at Studio 34 in West Philly. Tonight they welcome UPenn student group WITHOUT A NET.

Studio 34 is a lovely yoga studio, and the perfect place to refresh your comedy spirit. My head is also trying to form some horrible joke about how missing this show makes you a downward facing dog, but you should disregard my bad one liners and go see awesome improv instead!
