Monday night during CHIP CHANTRY’S ONE MAN SHOW, the night was dedicated to roasting one of Philadelphia’s dearest darlings… MEG FAVREAU, who soon departs for Los Angeles.

For those who are kicking themselves for missing it, the PHILLY IMPROV THEATER was kind enough to get the whole thing on video for posterity.

Below is the start of the roast. You can check out the rest in 14 parts on PHIT’s YouTube channel

NSFW Video: Drysdale offers her lyrical love for the L Word

03/20/2009

Zach Ward just posted this video over at the Mister Diplomat blog, and it’s nothing short of fabulous. Rebecca Drysdale (of Baby Wants Candy and renowned for her comedy tours of Chicago, NYC, LA and Amsterdam) rocks as Beck D… laying down this lyrically brilliant serenade for the cast of the L Word.

l-word

I’ve watched Becky throw out some amazing lyrics off the cuff for BWC, but this is really a whole other level. Running over 5 minutes, I’m still wanting more. I only wish I would have seen this much sooner, as it’s been up since July of last year. But beware, this is ridiculously NOT SAFE FOR WORK.

Video: Excellent Cohen Brothers Mashup

04/21/2008

I’m in love with the following mashup tribute to the Cohen Brothers’ body of work. It does a great job of framing their ability to communicate both through wide cinematic tones and more subtly nuanced themes. As a big fan of about everything Joel and Ethan Cohen touch, I think this is simply gorgeous.

Video List: 50 Greatest Comedy Sketches

04/10/2008

Gene Frenkle explores the studio spaceI’ve just come across an incredibly dangerous list: Nerve and IFC have created a list of the 50 Greatest Comedy Sketches of All Time.

They’re pretty comprehensive… The annuls of Python, SNL, KITH, The State, Mr. Show, SCTV, Chappelle’s Show, Carol Burnett, Catherine Tate, Your Show of Shows… you’ll see them all on this list.

But what makes this particular list an utter time vacuum? They all have the videos embedded right there.

Video: Silverman’s Message to Kimmel

02/04/2008

For some time now, it’s become apparent that there’s two types of people in this world – those who love Sarah Silverman, and those who hate her. I’m personally of the adoring former; her humor just cracks me up.

If you happened to miss Jimmy Kimmel’s show last week where he had sweetheart Silverman on as a guest, then you haven’t seen this song. For awhile now, Kimmel has had a long running joke going on where he messes with Matt Damon, ending the show right before Matt’s supposed to take the guest chair. This came to a head awhile back, resulting in Matt blowing a gasket.

With all that in mind, now enjoy this VERY VERY NOT SAFE FOR WORK clip:
